Learn how to create and perform AI Validation image steps in checklists.
AI Image Validation is a tool designed to analyze images and verify them against predefined standards or criteria with artificial intelligence. It ensures that the images meet certain quality, accuracy, or compliance metrics, using advanced AI algorithms for faster and more precise validation. In Chekhub, this tool can be used to streamline workflows where image accuracy is critical.
Steps to Enable AI Validation on Checklist Image Steps
- Create a New Checklist
- Navigate to the "Checklists" module in Chekhub.
- Click the "Create Checklist" button to start a new checklist.
- Add an Image Step
- While configuring your checklist, add a new step and select the "Image" step type from the available options.
- Enable AI Validation
- In the step configuration panel, find the option labeled "Enable AI Validation."
- Check the box next to this option to enforce AI validation when the participant uploads an image during the checklist task.
- Save the Step and Checklist
- After enabling AI validation, complete the rest of the step configuration as needed.
- Save the checklist once all steps are configured.
Example Use Case: AI Image Validation for Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Procedure
In this example, a Lockout Tagout (LOTO) checklist is being performed to ensure proper safety measures during maintenance. The AI image validation feature in Chekhub ensures that visual confirmation of the lock and breaker position is accurate, preventing errors in this critical task.
- Checklist Configuration
- A LOTO checklist is created, requiring a technician to confirm that a breaker is in the "OFF" position with a lock attached.
- The checklist includes an Image Step with AI Validation enabled.
- Performing the Checklist
- When the technician reaches the image step in the LOTO checklist, they are prompted to either upload or capture a photo of the breaker in the "OFF" position with the lock securely attached.
- AI Validation Process
- After the photo is uploaded or captured, Chekhub’s AI will analyze the image based on the step’s instructions.
- The AI checks whether the breaker is visually in the "OFF" position and whether the lock is attached correctly.
- Validation Outcome
- Pass:
If the AI determines that the breaker is in the correct "OFF" position with the lock attached, the step is marked as verified, allowing the technician to proceed with the rest of the checklist. - Rejection:
If the AI validation fails, the technician will receive a rejection message, explaining why the photo did not meet the checklist requirements.
Example rejection message:
“Step rejected by: Chekhub AI – The breaker is not locked in the OFF position.”
The technician must then capture another image that clearly shows the breaker in the correct position with the lock attached.
- Pass:
- Completion of the Checklist
- Once the image passes validation, the technician can proceed to complete the remaining steps of the checklist.
Key Benefits of AI Image Validation
- Accuracy and Safety: Ensures critical safety steps, like LOTO, are properly executed and visually verified.
- Efficiency: Reduces human error by automating the validation process.
- Clear Feedback: Provides immediate feedback and context when the image does not meet the checklist criteria, ensuring corrective action can be taken quickly.
